Research Manager

Job Purpose

We’re recruiting a Research Manager with excellent research skills, preferably both qualitative and qualitative. Our new RM will help to lead a variety of our biggest clients, from diverse industries including automotive, FMCG, tourism and food and drink.

We are looking for the right candidate to start as soon as possible in order to help manage increased business across these clients and to grow the account further. The ideal candidate would have 4-6 years of research experience with a particular focus on ad-hoc quantitative methodologies, but qualitative experience and a knowledge of panels would be great too.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and liaise effectively with senior clients, being the main contact for day-to-day aspects of projects

  • Responsibility for account management and growth of the accounts  

  • Coordinate and manage client research projects and the delivery of insight to clients that really adds value and makes a difference to their business 

  • Bring quantitative research knowledge and analytical expertise to the team including sampling techniques and design, data collection methods and data analysis 

  • Design and advise on complex questionnaires which demonstrate an understanding of clients’ objectives, as well as commercial awareness 

  • Bring a good understanding of the principles and practical use of statistics, ensuring accurate reporting of survey data 

  • Accurately report and disseminate findings from data, providing high quality research reporting and analytics outputs that engages clients 

  • Support the Associate Director in writing large research proposals and write small to mid-sized proposals independently 

  • Support the team in ensuring the achievement of client and team revenue targets 

  • Work closely with clients and colleagues to support innovation and the development of accounts and the services we provide

 


Key skills &attributes

  • Proven knowledge and experience of quantitative research that meets clients’ needs 

  • Experience of communicating complex ideas and information simply to a wide audience

  • The ability to create reports that go beyond basic charting – a flair for design would be welcome 

  • A knowledge of how and when to use advanced statistical techniques such as conjoint, segmentation, MaxDiff, TURF and so on

  • Experience in working with clients and developing positive client relationships 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Experience of running research projects and a track record in working within fast-turn around projects 

  • Strong PPT and Excel skills

  • Experience using tabulations software such as Q would be beneficial
